Kaida Hanshi’s keikokai Report 10th – 11th March 2018

On the 10th of March 2018, Kaida Akira Sensei, 8th Hanshi, visited Penang with a delegation of kenshi from his native Kagoshima Prefecture. This was sensei’s 3rd visit to Penang. This year, a seminar was held at the Uplands School’s sports hall and was participated by kenshi from all over Malaysia. It was an enjoyable and educational experience, and we all benefitted from Kaida sensei’s instruction.

The following day, a special godou keiko was held at our regular training hall, where we applied the knowledge we gained from the previous day’s seminar.

The Penang Kendo Club is truly to grateful to Kaida sensei and his companions for taking the time to come all the way to Penang to teach us. See you again next year!

One of the most valuable aspects of Kaida-sensei’s teaching methods is to encourage constant, mutual feedback. That way everyone can improve quickly!
